Support

How can we help?

Quick answers about Squawk, the app with all your travel information in one place. Search, or pick a topic.

Adding flights

How do I add a flight?

Tap the add button and search by route (two airports and a date) or by flight number, then pick your flight. If a search can't find it, you can enter the flight by hand.

Looking up a flight by number or by route, with its live times and gates, and looking up past flights, work on every plan.

Can I import my flight history?

Yes, when you first set up Squawk. It reads a CSV export from Flighty or myFlightradar24, a calendar file (.ics), Squawk's own export, or any spreadsheet with a header row naming the date, flight and airports. The file is read on your iPhone and you tick the flights to keep before anything is saved.

Your account and devices

How do I get my flights on another iPhone?

Sign in with the same email address. Your flight log, friends and preferences belong to your account, so they appear on every device you sign in on. While you're signed out, preferences stay on that phone only.

Live Share and friends

How does Live Share work?

Open a flight and tap share. Live Share sends a live page for the whole trip, for family following along; a pickup link tells whoever is meeting you when you'll be out and when to leave home. Either opens in any browser, with no app or account.

Making links is part of Plus; following one is free for everyone. A trip link ends 24 hours after you land, and Stop sharing ends it at once. The preview in Messages is a snapshot from when you sent it; the page behind it stays live.

What can my friends see?

Only what you switch on under “What friends can see”, and only people you've accepted. The privacy policy lists each switch.

Widgets and Live Activities

How do I add a Squawk widget?

Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Squawk. Widgets show your next flight and this year's travels, and come with Pro.

Widgets read what the app last saved on your phone. If one looks out of date, open Squawk and it refreshes.

My flight isn't on the Lock Screen

Live Activities come with Plus. Check they're allowed for Squawk in your iPhone's Settings → Squawk, and in Squawk's own Settings.

Plans and purchases

How do I restore my purchases?

In Squawk, go to Settings → Plan → Restore purchases. Purchases belong to the Apple Account that made them, so use the same Apple Account on the new iPhone. “Nothing to restore” means no Squawk purchase was found on the Apple Account signed in to the App Store.

How do I cancel or change my plan?

Open your iPhone's Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Squawk; or in Squawk, Settings → Plan → Manage subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to stop the next charge. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I invite people to Family Pro?

After buying Family Pro, open Settings → Plan → Family. Invite a friend from your friends list, or share a one-use link that works for 14 days. They join in the app with their own Squawk account and pay nothing. You can have up to 5 people besides yourself, and remove anyone from the same screen.

How do invite rewards work?

Your code is in Settings → Plan → Invite friends. You earn a free week for each new friend who joins with it and buys a monthly plan. The full rules are on the Pricing page.

The beta and TestFlight

How do I join the beta?

Join the beta list using the email address on your Apple Account: that's where Apple's TestFlight sends the invite when a place opens. Install TestFlight from the App Store, open the invite, tap Install, then create your Squawk account in the app.

My beta build stopped working

TestFlight builds expire 90 days after they're released. Open the TestFlight app and install the newest Squawk build.

How do I send beta feedback?

Take a screenshot in Squawk and tap Share Beta Feedback, or open TestFlight, choose Squawk and tap Send Beta Feedback. Screenshots of the problem help most.

Your data

How do I delete my account?

In Squawk, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. It asks twice, then deletes your account and everything on it straight away. The privacy policy lists exactly what goes and what stays. Deleting doesn't cancel a subscription, so cancel yours first in your iPhone's Settings. To delete your data but keep your account, email support@thesquawkapp.com from the address you sign in with.

Can I get a copy of my flights?

Yes. In Squawk, go to Settings → Account: Export my data saves your flights, saved places, watchlist and settings as a JSON file, and Flight log as CSV saves a file that Squawk and most spreadsheets can read back. Both open the share sheet, so you can save them to Files, AirDrop them or email them.

A flight's time, gate or status is wrong

Times and gates come from airline and airport data feeds and can lag or be wrong, and forecasts are Squawk's estimates. Always check with your airline before you rely on them.

Please tell us: send the flight number, the date, what Squawk showed and what actually happened, with a screenshot if you can, to support@thesquawkapp.com (beta testers can use TestFlight feedback). Aircraft on the live map come from volunteer receivers, so one can be missing where coverage is thin.
